Week 1

Colonization Begins

Mycorrhizal spores germinate and begin colonizing root tips. Hyphal threads extend into the substrate matrix, dramatically expanding the root absorption zone.

Week 2–3

Trichoderma Establishes

How to use
Tropical Roots

01

Prepare Your Plant

Remove your plant from its current substrate. Gently shake off old soil and rinse roots under lukewarm water. Inspect for rot — trim any damaged roots with sterile scissors.

Do not fertilize for 30 days after repotting. The RootBiology System™ needs time to establish without chemical interference.

Fill & Plant

Add a 2–3 inch base layer of Verdantis to your pot. Position your plant, then fill around the root ball, gently tamping to eliminate large air gaps. Leave 1 inch of space from the rim.

For aroids: Plant slightly higher than in previous pot to encourage aerial root development.

Water & Establish

Water thoroughly until drainage runs clear. Place in indirect bright light for the first 2 weeks to minimize transplant stress. Resume normal watering only when the top 2 inches feel dry.

Expect a 2–3 week adjustment period. This is normal — the RootBiology System™ is establishing.

Yes. Verdantis is optimized for tropical aroids including Monstera, Philodendron, Alocasia, Anthurium, Pothos, and Hoya. Its airy, well-draining structure mimics the forest floor conditions these plants evolved in. It is not recommended for succulents, cacti, or plants that prefer dry, sandy conditions.

A 10L bag covers approximately: 20 × 4" pots, 6–7 × 6" pots, 3–4 × 8" pots, or 1–2 × 10"+ pots. See the Coverage Guide above for a full breakdown by pot size.

Water when the top 2 inches feel dry. Because Verdantis drains freely and doesn't compact, you'll typically water more frequently than with dense potting mix — but your roots will never sit in stagnant moisture. Most tropical plants in Verdantis thrive with watering every 5–10 days depending on light and humidity.

Verdantis contains worm castings, which provide a gentle, slow-release baseline of nutrients. For optimal growth, we recommend supplementing with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2–4 weeks during the growing season. The substrate itself is designed to support root architecture — nutrition is a separate layer.
